Chris Dier
Chris Dier joined FLG in 2009. Chris has over 25 years of financial executive experience and recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for NEXTracker, a utility-scale solar tracking and systems leader in Fremont, California, that was backed by DBL Ventures, Sigma Partners and SJF Ventures. During his tenure with NEXTracker, Chris supported two equity capital raises, obtained $20M of venture debt, and was instrumental in its acquisition by Flextronics for approximately $360 million.
Formerly, Chris was the CFO of OuterBay Technologies, a database management software company, where he was instrumental in its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard. He has also been CFO at and led the IPOs of well-known Silicon Valley companies, including Aurum Software, Inc. (CRM software), iBeam Broadcasting Corporation (Internet content distribution), and Veritas Software Corp (storage management software).
Chris has diverse executive experience in delivering value to high technology venture backed companies, including selling funding plans, creating strategic partnership agreements, capital and debt raises, and achieving successful exits and acquisitions. Solid ability to articulate value propositions, develop business models and create and manage financial and support services for early to late stage technology companies.
Past consulting engagements include an interim leadership position with a large solar EPC operation and business modeling and planning support for companies optimizing data management.
Chris holds a BA in Humanities and an MBA from Santa Clara University and is an active outdoor sports enthusiast. He summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in November 2011 (above left).
