Eric Hall
Eric Hall (1954 – 2024) Distinguished Alumni
Eric Hall joined FLG in 2004 as one of the first hires after the Firm was founded. Eric was a member of the Firm’s Management Committee from 2012 – 2015 and 2023 – 2024 and has also served as Chair of FLG’s Compensation and Marketing committees.
Eric had over 30 years of senior management experience serving as president, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer for a variety of private and public companies. As an FLG partner, he worked in life science, financial services, professional services, consumer retail, venture capital, family office/fund of funds/alternative investments, and technology companies. Eric managed corporate and financial strategy, financial and accounting operations, financial systems, profit improvement, fundraising, corporate and capital restructurings, international expansion and operations, cash management, mergers & acquisitions, risk management, legal, human resources, IT, and investment management/alternative investments. He also served on the Board of Directors for Pan Pacific Bank and was instrumental in their acquisition in 2015.
Eric was a formidable CFO and excellent at building successful organizations from the ground up. He helped launch several companies over the past 30+ years, including, but not limited to, Yahoo!, Paramount/Viacom Online, The ImagiNation Network, women.com, McKenna Capital/mc3 ventures, and Visionnaire Ventures. He also raised over $2 billion of debt and equity financing during his career, and took several companies public on NASDAQ.
Prior to joining FLG, Eric was a managing partner of McKenna Capital LLC/mc3 ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund located in San Francisco, California. In the 1990s, Eric focused on providing interim COO/CFO services for over 30 clients ranging from Fortune 500 to venture-backed companies at The Archer Group (Founding CEO), Technology Perspectives (Founding Partner), and David Powell-FSD (Partner). Previous work experience included Wells Fargo Bank, Amdahl, and Arthur Andersen & Co.
Eric received his MBA in Finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis. He was also a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute. Eric served on the Board of Directors for Pan Pacific Bank, Owen Graduate School of Management – Vanderbilt University, Embraceher Health, and Vascular Cures Foundation (Chair).
