Monica Stevenson

Monica Stevenson joined FLG in 2020 with over 20 years of finance and operations experience and over a decade of specialized expertise in consumer & luxury goods, apparel, beauty, retail, wholesale and e-commerce.  She has led the functional areas of finance, operations, treasury, real estate, legal, risk management, business strategy, merchandising, supply chain, human resources, IT and Investor Relations for the North American operations of global brands such as Tourneau, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana.

As an operational CFO, Monica executes strategies to deliver net profit growth and transformative process improvements.  Monica undertakes to build data-driven organizations that leverage KPI’s and other insights to identify areas for potential growth.

Prior to FLG, Monica was CFO of Tourneau where she shortened and created accuracy in the month-end reporting, leveraged technology solutions to automate sales auditing, improved cashflow by reducing the order to cash cycle, streamlined Board reporting, and negotiated a multi-million dollar consumer credit facility.

As Chief Financial & Operating Officer at MCM Worldwide she was responsible for setting up the US Operations headquarters, negotiating real estate deals, managing capital improvements budgets,  ensuring a successful launch of the brand’s e-commerce business and establishing Accounting, IT and HR functions and best practices.

As CFO at Versace, Monica returned the company to profitability after its two decades of losses and during an economic recession.  As CFO, she created a data-driven culture which was instrumental in identifying sales and margin opportunities resulting in 3x revenue growth and significant gross profit margin increases.  After identifying the retail channel as the loss leader, she effectively returned all stores to profitability by renegotiating leases, right sizing square-footage, reducing fixed labor cost and improving inventory turn. In doing so, she developed a model for evaluating new retail opportunities’ ROI allowing the business to make smarter, more profitable decision on all retail acquisitions.   The remarkable rapid growth at Versace allowed for an equity transaction with Blackstone Private Equity in 2013.

Earlier in her career, Monica held roles with Yves Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana and spent several years in media and entertainment at both Havas/Media Planning Group and Arista Records.

Monica graduated with honors from St. John’s University with a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting and began her career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, during which time she obtained her New York State CPA license.

Monica sits on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion board of The CFO Leadership Council and is also a member of the CHIEF and WIE Networks. She resides in New York City.
