Patrick joined FLG in 2020. Patrick has over 21 years of extensive experience in raising capital, strategic and financial planning and investor relations. Patrick’s worked in medical technology and diagnostic companies focusing on developmental and commercial stages.
Formerly, Patrick was the CFO at OptiScan Biomedical Corporation, a medical device company developing blood monitoring systems for ICU applications. As CFO, Patrick raised over $165M in equity and debt and instituted budgetary controls and long-term planning processes. He oversaw finance, legal, HR, IT, marketing and sales.
Previously, Patrick was CFO with Pelikan Technologies, a spin-out from Agilent Technologies which developed integrated systems for the $8B blood glucose monitoring business, and raised over $215M of equity and debt. At Pelikan, Patrick managed the acquisition and integration of a European subsidiary, implemented Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls, instituted full-scale audits of U.S. and German divisions, and successfully managed investor relationships in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Prior to that Patrick was CFO at Telesensory Corporation, an international medical technology business with subsidiaries in the U.K. and France, which developed medical device systems to serve those with visual impairments. There he recruited and supervised a team of 15 in Finance and Accounting, IT, and Sales Order Administration. He established and maintained relationships with bankers, auditors, and attorneys to ensure compliance with regulations in all nations where the company had operations.
Earlier, he was Corporate Controller at Pacific Crest Corporation, a developer of GPS systems.
Mr. Nugent has a BS degree in Business Management and Accountancy and is a Chartered Management Accountant, both from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in London, England.
