William Atkins

William Atkins joined FLG in 2023 with over 30 years of experience as both CFO of and advisor to public and private technology companies. He has led the finance function at both large companies ($1B+ revenues) and high growth VC and PE backed companies (A through D Rounds) with heavy exposure to ESG, data analytics, software services, robotics/drones, and manufacturing. He has executed IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and public and private debt and equity offerings and has deep experience with platform roll-ups, valuations, strategic acquisitions and divestments, long-term business and financial planning, board representation, and implementation and overhaul of financial reporting systems and controls and cash management.

William is a high-integrity, results driven strategic and financial leader, skilled at scaling and restructuring businesses and at building first-class, diverse, interdisciplinary teams. He has a strong track record of successfully upgrading and scaling finance, legal, HR and IT teams, processes and systems.

Large company CFO positions held by William include roles at Calix (NYSE: CALX), a leading, publicly listed, global provider of broadband telecommunications access systems, services and software based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with operations in China and Europe and at Intelsat, the Washington DC based global satellite telecommunications provider – where he led their $5.1B  private equity sale process and sale of the company and associated financings and operational and strategic restructuring.

In the VC- and PE-backed arena, William recently served as CFO of Mobileum, a private equity-backed provider of telecom analytics software and services and was previously CFO at One Concern, a venture capital-backed start-up that is using artificial intelligence to build a platform that will predict and quantify the impact of natural disasters. He has also held CFO roles at Clarify Health Solutions, an AI-enabled, VC-backed digital healthcare company developing real-time analytics and care guidance solutions, and at Airobotics, a VC backed enterprise-focused robotic drone start-up.

Before his CFO career, William was a senior investment banker at Morgan Stanley, serving as a Managing Director in the firm’s Investment Banking Division based in London and Tokyo, and having earlier been a banker at S. G. Warburg in London and at Chemical Bank in New York and Toronto.

William has an M.A. and a B.A. from Stanford University and has varying degrees of proficiency in French, Japanese and Spanish.
