Jeff Kuhn
Jeff Kuhn is a co-founder of FLG Partners. He served as FLG’s Managing Partner for nearly 15 years until mid-2018 and as its Administrative Partner from then until January 2022, when he retired from management of the firm to focus on CEO and CFO coaching and mentoring, and advising and sitting on corporate boards.
In his management role he was primarily responsible for managing FLG’s operations, communications, partner development and business development. He has over 45 years of operational, financial and capital markets experience in investment banking, financial services and technology companies. He has built particular expertise in the technology sector, as CFO of and consultant to companies in the software, design services, and telecommunications sectors, with significant international experience in Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Jeff has wide experience, including IPOs, project finance, leasing, mergers & acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, and recapitalizations.
Prior to co-founding FLG, Jeff was CFO at Planetweb, Inc., an internationally venture-backed software company which developed and licensed embedded applications and device-critical software for consumer electronics OEMs. Earlier, Jeff was Executive Vice President and CFO for Diablo Research Company, a world-leading design services company specializing in wireless communications. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Investment Banking, in the Technology Group at Kidder, Peabody & Co., Inc., and was CFO, VP Finance, co-founder of, and consultant to, a number of other companies in the financial services and technology sectors.
Jeff is presently a member of the Board of Directors of Skyline Enterprises, where he is the chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Previously, he was on the board of directors of the Silicon Valley Directors’ Exchange, a non-profit organization providing a forum for education, conversation about current issues, and networking for boards of directors of Silicon Valley companies; a former chairman of the Board of Directors of GoGrid until its acquisition by Datapipe in January 2015; a past director of Translarity, Inc., SVForum, and Jhana Education, Inc. He is credentialed as a Board Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors, which is their highest standard of credentialing for directors and governance professionals (2018 and 2019). He is also a graduate of the Stanford Director’s College at the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at the Stanford Law School in 2019 and 2021.
In his spare time Jeff is devoted to photography; he is a published photographer, exhibits his work in private galleries, and displays his work on line on his photography website.
Jeff holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
