Mark Archer

Mark Archer joined FLG in 2021 and has spent over 30 years serving as Chief Financial Officer or President at many consumer-centric businesses. He has been a CFO at both private and public companies, and has built financial organizations in start-ups to managing teams as large as 350 people in public companies. Mark has worked extensively with venture capital and private equity backed companies.

Mark has led cross-functional teams to achieve their goals during particularly disruptive events, including organizational restructurings, changes in executive leadership, acquisitions, readying the company for new investors, and post-sale integration. He has concluded the sale of four businesses, to both strategic and financial investors. Mark has completed an IPO, closed six venture capital rounds, managed five commercial debt financings, and secured alternative financing to fund growth.

Mark’s consumer experience includes restaurants (national brands such as Denny’s, Jamba Juice, and Del Taco), specialty retailers (with physical stores, eCommerce, and Direct-to-Consumer sales channels), and both hospitality and banking businesses. His experience also includes working with manufacturing, distribution, gaming, and automotive companies. Mark’s experience in the technology sector includes enterprise software, SaaS, IoT, and B2C eCommerce companies. His experience covers both domestic and international operations.

Much of Mark’s background has been in companies experiencing rapid growth or in legacy business where he has repositioned them for renewed growth. Mark’s strong strategic and data analysis skills, operational focus, and general management background makes him an ideal business partner for the CEO and leadership team. He adds value by helping organizations identify and realize opportunities for improving profitability, streamlining operations, and increasing the effectiveness of their business by providing focus, establishing priorities, clarifying accountabilities, and driving execution against goals. Mark is committed to improving long-term shareholder value by unleashing individual and organizational potential.

Mark has successfully built and led high performance teams in variety of functions including finance & accounting, strategy & planning, IT, pricing, procurement, legal, treasury, credit & collections, inventory management, human resources, marketing, and investor relations.  He leads by example, is entrepreneurial in style, and works very collaboratively.

Mark serves the on Board of Napa-based JaM Cellars and has been the Board Chair of the LA County Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs, which oversees over 140 individual clubs. Mark is passionate about mentoring and has been an executive expert advising and mentoring undergraduate business students.

Mark completed his B.S. in Business Administration and M.B.A. in Finance, both from the University of Southern California. In addition, Mark spent time studying economics under full scholarship at the University of Cambridge, in England. He was nominated CFO of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal.
