Jeff Van Zanten
Jeff Van Zanten joined FLG in 2016 after twenty five years of senior financial leadership in the SaaS, Software, Professional Services and Financial Services industries. A veteran of several hypergrowth companies Jeff was the Chief Financial Officer and led the Finance, Legal, Human Resources, IT, M&A, Facilities and Administration teams at Apttus (SaaS), Coverity (a SaaS company sold to Synopsys), Symphony Services (a professional services company sold to Harman International), Purple Moon Software (a media and gaming company sold to Mattel) and served as a Partner and the CFO of Symphony Technology Group (a Private Equity firm). Jeff also held senior financial leadership roles at Advent Software (a NASDAQ listed company subsequently acquired by SS&C), Scient Corp (a NASDAQ listed company acquired by SBI and Company) and Wells Fargo Investment Advisors (acquired by Barclays Global Investors).
His functional responsibilities have included Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Legal, M&A, Facilities and Administration. In his roles he has established, grown and managed all of these groups from a nascent stage through multinational scale while dealing with hypergrowth challenges. Specifically, he was responsible for the management of these G&A groups for Advent Software as they grew from 35 to 450 employees, Scient as they grew from 70 to over 2,000 employees, Symphony Services as they grew from 40 to over 4,000 employees and Apttus as they grew from 200 to over 1,200 employees. His responsibilities have spanned every continent on the globe except Antartica and he has established and managed material international teams in Europe, the Nordics, Australia, India and throughout much of the rest of Asia.
Jeff either led or co-led more than a dozen public and private fund raising transactions generating more than a billion dollars in funding and led by the most successful Venture Capital and Private Equity firms in the world.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California where he received his B.S. in Accounting, started his career with Coopers & Lybrand where he received his CPA (inactive) in California, and was a Series 7 and 63 registered investment advisor.
In his spare time Jeff has served on the Board of Directors of numerous non-profits including Shelter Network (now LiveMoves), the CALL Primrose center, the Hillsborough Schools Foundation and the California Golf Club of San Francisco.
