This month, FLG Partner and CFO Patrick Nugent attended the LSI USA 2025 Conference, “Emerging Medtech Summit,” in Dana Point, California. This annual event is well-represented not only by Medtech companies but also by investors and strategists, resulting in well over 1,500 attendees.
“LSI proved Medtech innovations are alive and well, and there is a great spirit for the future of the Medtech ecosystem,” shared Patrick.
Since 2006, LSI’s team of industry insiders, market analysts, media professionals, and events strategists has been helping Life Science executives access the community, capital, and insights that enable growth worldwide. LSI’s event ethos reads, “World-class executives, convening in world-class venues to do real business.”
Patrick shared that there were many insightful speakers, panels, and meetings. He was most interested in the newest innovations, of which the following stood out:
- Cardiac: Outstanding technology improvements, including artificial intelligence-enabled diagnostic testing, are underway. And, separately, new software solutions that improve pacemaker performance are being developed.
- Neuromodulation: Neuromodulation is a tech modality with a diverse range of applications. New solutions are being developed for epileptic patients and those with urology conditions.
- Advanced Wound Healing: Advanced wound healing technologies are coming to market with new diagnostics for brain hemorrhages.
- Skin Conditions: AI can now detect unique skin conditions and recommend therapy solutions.
Keynote speakers included Lisa Earnhardt, Executive Vice President and Group President, Medical Devices at Abbott, and Gary S. Guthart, PhD, CEO and Member of the Board of Directors at Intuitive.
